Prince Andrew is relinquishing his designations, including the York's Duke, he has declared in a individual message.
He has been under increasing scrutiny over his connections with convicted criminal Epstein, with requests for the Palace to take measures against him.
That now seems to have led to the prince deciding to voluntarily give up his honors and to relinquish participation of the prestigious order.
In his message he said he continued to "firmly dispute the allegations against me".
"In consultation with the monarch, and my close and wider family, we have decided the ongoing claims about me distract from the responsibilities of the King and the Royal Family," said a message from him.
"I have chosen, as I always have, to put my obligation to my family and nation first.
"I support my choice five years ago to stand back from official duties.
"With the King's consent, we believe I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the distinctions which have been bestowed on me. As I have said before, I strongly dispute the claims against me."
The royal has encountered a number of issues, among them a legal case he settled with an accuser, questions about his finances and his connection with an suspected Chinese spy.
He will remain a member of royalty - but will stop to be the York's Duke, a honor granted from his mother, the Queen Elizabeth II.
He had already stopped to be a "working royal" and had lost the use of his royal style and no longer appeared at official royal events. His role now will be even more diminished.
His former spouse will be known as Ferguson and no longer Duchess of York, but their offspring will persist to have the title of royal princess.
The royal has encountered strong scrutiny over his links with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, more recently featuring inquiries about when he had really cut off ties.
In his BBC Newsnight interview, the royal had said that he had ended all links with the financier after they had been pictured together in NYC in late 2010.
But correspondence sent in the following year later emerged suggesting that he had confidentially stayed in communication with Epstein, including sending a communication: "Remain connected and we'll have further interactions soon!"
There had been growing annoyance in the royal household at the scandals that continued to plague the royal.
In the coming days a posthumous memoir by Giuffre will be released which is likely to cast further focus on Prince Andrew's connection with Ms Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein.
